Out of that work discussion came a simple Sudoku solver, implemented in Java. Which is
great, but I don't tend to be sitting at my computer when reading the paper and doing
a Sudoku. Thus Sudokulet - a Sudoku solving MIDlet. Or, for the non-techno-geeks in
the audience, a Sudoku solver that runs on your mobile phone.
If you find it useful, we'd encourage you to make a small donation, such as $5, towards its
continued development. The more interest
there is in Sudokulet, the more incentive we have to improve on it!
There is no obligation to donate - its purely a voluntarily thing. If, however, you
do choose to make a donation, you can use the button below. And thanks in
advance!
We have run it successfully on the following devices:
We'd love to hear of Sudokulet working (or not working) on other models of mobile phone. So,
feel free to let us know via the "Contact Us" link at the top of this page.
And, to be pedantic, Sudokulet is Copyright 2005 by Asman IT Consulting. You are welcome to
run it, for your own personal use, on your own mobile phone. If you want to do something
else (say, develop your own product based on some of Sudokulet's code), then get in touch with us
via the "Contact Us" link at the top of the page.
And, once again, should you enjoy this piece of software and wish to express your thanks, you may
wish to make a donation - see the Cost section above.

Introduction
Sudokulet grew out of a work discussion on how to programmatically solve Sudoku
puzzles - those frustrating number puzzles you get in the paper. We won't go into
the details of how they work here - if you need to know, this program isn't for you!
Cost
The current version of Sudokulet can be downloaded for free for personal use only.
Screenshots
The following images show a few screenshots of Sudokulet in action. The screenshots were taken
from an emulator to be more legible. They look, however, pretty close to what you'll see on
your phone (or a Nokia series 60 phone, at least.)

Supported Devices
Sudokulet requires a phone (or other portable device) that supports MIDP 2.0. If you
don't know what that means, a rule of thumb is Sudokulet will only run on phones that have
been released since around 2004/2005.
Instructions
Using Sudokulet is quite straightforward. On startup, you will be presented with a blank
Sudoku grid. Use your phone's "direction" buttons to move around the grid, and numeric keys
to enter in any numbers. At any stage, you may ask Sudokulet to:
The Legal Stuff: Disclaimers, Warranties, Support, Copyright
As is so often the case with software, there are no warranties with Sudokulet. It may
not work for you. It may crash your phone. You never know, it may even give you the wrong
answer to a Sudoku!
Other Stuff...
Be a shame to come all this way and only check out Sudokulet! In particular, you may wish to
check out the Other Resources link at the top of this page where
you can find a variety of other downloads (including an under-development version of the
Sudoku Solver for the Google Home Page).
Download!
To get this up and running, you will need the following two files:
Those people surfing here using their mobile phone/device may be able to just click on the first link. If
not, you should download these files to your PC, and use whatever software came with your
phone to copy Sudokulet across to your device.
